Sauerkraut サウアクラウト

A few weeks ago start to prepair the cabbage
Cabbage and salt only

Now storage for 4 to 6 weeks

にんじんパン Karotten Brot

Today I made my bread a little different ,
I used boiled carrots instead of any other liquid

Freshly ground wheat flour with the usual seeds ( pumpkin , sunflower and
line seeds) together with carrots .

It turned out deliciours and is even more healthy !

" Äpfel im Schlafrock "

APPLES IN PUFF PASTRY is an other austrian sweets wich I love !
Making the puff pastry takes quite a long time ( almost a day ) but I have
got small Apples from Hirota farm in Mashiko so I made them yesterday .

Zillertaler Krapfen チラタルクラッペン

チラタルクラッペンは、オーストリアのチラタル地方で良く食べられている洋風焼き餃子のようなもので、中にはジャガ芋や、チーズや、カッテージチーズなどがはいっています!今日は里帰りしている娘が作ってくれました。付け合わせには赤キャベツと白キャベツのサラダでした!ん~おいしかった!

Apfel Strudel

Today baked the Apfel Strudel !

Apfel Strudel

I got some apples from the fruit farm HIROTA in Mashiko

They are called Kougyoku and are the best to make sweets
So I could make my favorite cake , an Astrian Apfelstrudel

Peel and slice the apples

Butter, bread crumbs , sugar cinnamon and rum are the ingredients
and the dough made from flour , eggs and oil with a little salt

than roll all together...and bake !

The left over from the apples got a delicious compote .

干しナス🍆 dried eggplants

This year's eggplants are so plenty that we are not able to eat them all .
So someone said , dried eggplants are nice in winter for Miso soup and Udon

so I sliced and kept them on low heat for about 4 hours

Dinner with Niima

When our father is out for dinner ,
My son and me like to eat austrian sweets .

The sweet is called "BUCHTELN " and is bread with chocolate creme inside (originally is apricot jam)

still hot from the oven , put some custard creme on and eat !
before the sweet we eat Mashiko special "BIRMA SHIRU "

since many years I wanted to get an Eiscreme maker, now I bought one !!!

2 parts fresch Soyamilk , brown suger and 1 part fresh creme mix together ,

put in the machine and swith on ,

after 25 min a wonderful creamy eiscreme is ready !

My wwoofer girl from Singapore will go back tomorrow ,
She wanted to eat an austrian dinner

So I cooked " Spinat Knoedel " witch are spinach bread balls with cheese
In the middle
